2026年度 100回記念国展 彫刻部 入選作品
101体の木材の人物像が、
30メートルの一本のロープによって
「ひとつなぎ」となった作品です。
木材の種類である樹種を人種とたとえて、
姿形が異なる人々が手を繋いでいるように見立てました。
分断が進む現代において、
それぞれの身体的特徴を欠点ではなく個性として、
主義や主張は対立ではなく認め合う。
そんな大きなつながりを願って制作しました。
作品の大きな特徴のロープは
アトリエのある愛知県蒲郡市の主産業になります。
The Concept of “100+” (One Hundred Plus”)
This piece features 101 wooden human figures linked as “one continuous bond” by a single, 30-meter-long rope. By likening the various species of wood to the diversity of human races, the work envisions people of all different shapes and forms holding hands.
In today’s increasingly divided world, this creation reflects a hope for a grander connection—one where our distinct physical traits are celebrated as individuality rather than viewed as flaws, and where differing beliefs and ideologies lead to mutual acceptance rather than conflict.
The rope, which serves as a major feature of this artwork, represents the core traditional industry of Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture, where my studio is located.
